Dear State Supplied Vaccine (SSV) Provider,
January 29, 2007 is our transition date for the Direct Distribution (DD) project. I am providing you with a timeline of specific dates and updated materials in order to prepare you for this transition. Please review this information and share it with other practice physicians and your key staffers. If any of these dates should change, we will fax you an SSV Advisory.

Enrollment period for participation in the SSV program for 2007. |
11/1/2006
|
- All SSV vaccine stockpiles will be removed from hospital pharmacies and returned to the Department of Health (DOH) Vaccine Distribution Center (VDC).
- Only Newport, Westerly, and South County hospital pharmacies will be available as pick up sites for vaccine orders after 11/1/2006. The pharmacies will not have vaccine to fill orders directly. Orders will be processed, picked, packed, and shipped from the DOH VDC to these locations. Orders will be delivered to the pharmacy on the Thursday following your approval date. Please note the "delivery on or after date" with your approval.

11/1/2006-12/31/2006
|
- All provider vaccine orders (unless otherwise specified for pick up at Newport, Westerly, or South County hospital pharmacies) will need to be picked up at the DOH VDC.
- DOH VDC hours of operation for vaccine order pick up will be: Tues-Fri 9:00am - 12:00noon; Tues & Thurs 1:00-3:00pm

- SSV provider orders placed during this period should include enough vaccine to sustain your practice needs through the middle of February 2007.

1/22/2007 |
- Providers may begin submitting vaccine orders for February 2007 delivery.

1/29/2007 |
- Tentative go live date for Direct Distribution.

2/15/2007
|
- Earliest available date for delivery of vaccine ordered through Direct Distribution process.

The following information will be mailed to you shortly:
- SSV enrollment forms
- Updated Vaccine Order Form for immediate use
- Updated Vaccine Storage Temperature Log (Fahrenheit and Celsius)
- Current "RI Suggested Childhood Immunization Schedule"
- List of current "RI State Supplied Vaccines" with guidelines for use, dose size, route, needle size, CPT code, manufacturer, and preservative content.
