Healthy Housing

Vision:
All Rhode Islanders have a right to housing that supports their growth, development, and physical and mental health, and provides the opportunity to achieve a positive quality of life throughout the entire lifespan.

What is healthy housing?
According to the National Center for Healthy Housing, www.nchh.org, healthy housing is housing that is dry, clean, pest-free, ventilated, safe, without contaminants and is maintained.

Who do I contact?
The RI Department of Health recently formed a “Healthy Housing Steering Committee” that is responsible for working on healthy housing issues. Contacts:
